Bawn Lodge
Guesthouse accommodation is located in the centre of Strokestown town,
outside the gates of the Strokestown Park House & Famine Museum. Strokestown
is situated on the N5 in northern Roscommon.
Strokestown is located in a beautiful part of the country.
Surrounded by many lakes, Strokestown is noted for its wide streets.
It is said that they were made this way because the second Lord Hartlandwanted
to make his village thoroughfare even wider than the Ringstrasse in
Vienna. The town was built up around Strokestown Park House, which
was built in the 1730's. In the 1970's the house was bought and restored
and is now open to the public.
There are over 60 lakes and 10 miles of river, within a 7 mile radius
of Bawn Lodge, bed and breakfast. Fishermen will be spoilt
for choice, whether they are interested in Trout or Course fishing.
